We had no idea there was an amusement park hidden among the trees, but lo and behold, we followed some strange noises and found ourselves at the entrance to Bakken, the oldest amusement park in the world. I forgot my phone (aka camera) so I don't have a lot of photos. We didn't go on any rides, but did enjoy a beer as we meandered through the park (is that allowed in the US?). It reminded me of many American amusement parks and carnivals ... but I have a feeling the inspiration went the other way around :)

Map of Dyrehave and Bakken. We meant to go across the park and ended up at Bakken instead.
Old poster I found online - pretty neat
Today's poster from a travel website
No Danish amusement park is complete without some ice cold Fisk.
We biked back along the coast, a beautiful ride (sorry no photos). As we got into the city, we saw smoke and police all over the place. Curious, we kept going, expecting a fire. Instead we found a bunch of football (soccer) fans walking to the stadium together.
They were supporters of Brøndby IF going to a match against F.C. København (yes it is abbreviated FCK). Both are local teams so the crowds were huge. We followed alongside the police who were in the back of their parade/drunken march through the streets. Lots of beer, fireworks, and flares - hence the smoke. Apparently there was a mass brawl after the game, with many arrests (English article here). It was fun to run into the fans, maybe next time we'll see a game.
Biking slowly behind the revelers

Woo riot! And that amusement park sounds like the one in Hannah! Which is an awesome movie.
