Purim

The Jewish community in Denmark isn't huge, but it is (seems) really close knit. On erev Purim (Saturday night) we went to the Great Synagogue, which is about a 10 minute walk from our apartment. After the megillah reading, they had a party for the young members of the congregation with a '1001 Nights' theme. It was really great seeing so many young Jews, and for whatever reason we hadn't really seen this side of the community before. Hopefully we will be able to have shabbat dinners with them in the next few months.

Sunday we went to a Purim festival put on by Chabad at the Jewish school. It was mostly kids and their parents, plus some of us young folks. There were bouncy houses and pony rides - a complete Purim. I loved seeing everyone dressed up; it was a good thing we stopped at the local Aahs equivalent for costumes.

I unintentionally turned on my camera and took a photo while walking to the school, but I like what came of it. You'll see the full 'costume' below

300 people registered to come - sorry for the blur

Jon was John Adams (aka they had an old time-y barrister wig)
Robin was either Spring or a flower pot (aka they had flower wreaths for spring)

Some (separate) dancing
